O.K, sorry I have just taken the title from the title used on DA for my contribution to the DA birthday blogs but I couldn't think of anything better and it sort of fits.
My computer has been into PC World again today so I'm a bit behind with everything and am late to bed and tired but wanted to post this quickly while it is more relevant.
A website I visit www.leakylounge.com celebrated it's birthday recently and had many fun ways of celebrating this occasion on the site. This site also has a podcast - www.pottercast.com, which recently revealed a project/plan it/leaky was working on and then left us to theorise as to what this could be, we still do not know for sure what it is although I'm thinking some sort of search/ better site, new layout, archive type thing perhaps, anyway back to Pottercast, if you like Harry Potter I think you should listen to it, it does have lots of interesting discussions on it but also it nearly always makes me laugh, and I enjoy listening to it, so much so, I contacted someone who ran a fansite for it when they mentioned perhaps setting up some forums and she said I could be a super mod on this fansite for Pottercast - www.pottercastfans.com/forum. Go and check it out, if you want :-) (O.K shameless plugging going on here ;-) )
*I'm sure there was also something else I was going to mentione but can't remeber what it was, might not have been anything lol :-)

Late as usual
So I'm late again, (although technically it's only an hour since Saturday actually ended) and I've already seen what others have blogged about in celebration of the wonderful blog that is DA's birthday, to be honest they're all too good to compete with, I couldn't choose what to blog about and I talk rubbish most of the time so I'll keep this short and try not to talk about anything too complicated, especially not when it is about half 12 at night and I'm about to fall asleep on my keyboard.
I'm not sure if I'd have started blogging at all if it hadn't have been for DA, I happened to stumble across it one day and have been reading it regularly since then. I was relieved to find someone who blogged about Harry Potter, someone older and more intelligent As well, which made me think it was O.k for me to mention it, quite a bit I must admit (there's more HP related stuff to be blogged about tomorrow, *oh goody I hear you cry*) in my blog. I can see why the fascination with Snape aka Alan Rickman is there but I prefer the good guys ;-) (hmm, yes Snape may still be good but that's a much too complicated issue to go in to now). So anyway better get to the point to this blog as I said this would be short. You can blame DA for me starting my blog or if you like my blog you can thank DA...i'll leave you to decide which you'd rather do ;-) :-)

Oh how I love a happy ending...
Well, I have finished reading the book - Monday's child by Louise Bagshawe and it does have the happy although quite predictable ending that I was hoping for.
I haven't really read many books recently with the exception of Harry potter books, which I've read and re-read and maybe even re-re-read. I used to get a lot of books from the library, mostly teen murder mystery books, I think most of them were series type books (point something perhaps, not sure) and really all I have read before has been children's books (I know Harry Potter is no longer purely a children's book but it was originally so that kind of counts) so this was a different type of book to which I'd read before (although it did have two references to Harry Potter in it which was amusing to me) and I loved it. I wasn't sure at first but I really got into it. I felt a connection to the main character 'Anna Brown' as I am, like her, the not so pretty one amongst much better looking friends who get all the boys attention, there's quite a few differences as she is in her 30's and thinks she's fatter than lots of people which is the opposite to be being skinnier than most people, which is not always an advantage as some may think. I don't usually mind my friend having more interest from boys but I have to say this week because I do actually quite like someone at the moment so I noticed the fact that they all seem to manage to quite easily get boyfriends more and reading this book was quite interesting, I wonder if I'll get a similar happy ending (although perhaps not the possible marriage bit ;-) )
Anyway I did really like the book and now I'm actually disappointed that I've got to the end, I wanted to read more about Anna and Mark Swan and be told all about their marriage, which she'd have invited Kitty and all the other people who laughed at the thought of her and Mark, just so she could show people you don't good looks aren't always everything, I'd also liked to have read more about how her job as a screenwriter went, now I know this is meant to be left to the imagination but I just wanted more to read. I think I may start reading her next book 'Tuesday's child' I'm wondering whether there is/will be books for all 7 days, having read the back I'm not sure if it'll be as good, sort of sounds like it's on the same lines as the other one but I didn't[t known ow much I was going to enjoy 'Monday's child' when I read the back so I think I'll give 'Tuesday's child' a try.
* Hope this all makes sense, I've left it until the evening when I'm tired again, although having spend too much time on the computer last night and getting up to listen to Alex Zane (one of my new obsessions, O.k well not really an obsession, I just think he's great) on Xfm (although turned out he wasn't presenting the show this week for some reason, not sure if we were told what it was, was concentrating more on my book than I was listening to the radio for most of the time and then I went Latin dancing which was fun, I wasn't the only one, although there were two people I sort of know from school which was a bit embarrassing but the shy quiet person that I am, was proud of myself for going even though my friend couldn't come so I went by myself and actually talked to someone :-D I'm hoping to go again :-)

Is it wrong to fall in love with a fictional character?
O.k so I've not really fallen in love with this particular 'character' but I think I like him more than is probably normal. Has anybody read Monday's child by Louise Bagshawe? I'm really too tired to write anymore at the moment so if anyone has read it and got any comments or guesses as to who I may be referring to, leave a comment (although no spoilers please as I haven't finished the book yet :-)), and I'll read them and write more tomorrow when I'm *hopefully* more awake :-)

Why does the computer insist on telling me that something is not responding?
I have to admit I got rather annoyed yesterday when my computer would not let me watch the Bedford webcam however I tried, not even after I re-started the computer. I wanted to watch Alchemy (www.alchemylive.com) but I wasn't able to. My computer is low on memory and very slow so that could have been the problem but I'm not sure, I've not dared to try it and see if it works today as annoyingly whenever I tried to play the webcam on the site it just made everything go slow and I had to try and close it and it took ages for it to close, but it doesn't just close when I go to the task manager and press end now- oh no, it displays a message saying 'This program is not responding'... really!, and I suppose I hadn't noticed that and that wouldn't be why I'd resorted to pressing 'end now'? My computer and the Internet are the things that can make me very annoyed, which probably shows just how dependent I am on it and when it goes wrong, I get rather angry, although I think yesterday all the things that were/are in my mind and all the stresses of gcse's revision, coursework and other non-school related stuff culminated (not sure if that's the right word?) so I got more upset and annoyed than I may have done normally, thankfully today I'm o.k again and the computer, although still slow seems to be behaving itself. My dad's ordered new memory and it will be going in sometime next week to get that put on and my DVD-RW sorted (we had that installed but as soon as we turned the computer off and on again it disappeared of the icon menu so apparently there must be something that's not co-operating with it which will have to be sorted) and I should then be able to put some internet security onto the computer as it has none at the moment as it needs an update but we can't use the DVD drive and we probably don't have enough memory anyway however I don't like not having anything to stop viruses as I don't want it to get one and for me to lose everything I haven't been able to back anything up yet as the DVD-RW won't work yet *rollseyes* Oh the wonders of technology ;-) :-)
* Hope this all makes sense, it's late, I'm tired :-)
--------------------------------
This is a bit random but I wanted to tell somebody lol, I'm hoping to go Latin dancing tomorow, which was one of my new years resolutions, to go to a dance class/group, so as I have so far failed at keeping some hopefully this is one will be one of the ones* I manage to actually stick to :-)
* The other resolution that I'm sort of sticking to so far would be the 'go to lots of gigs (and just go out more, do something different and have fun in general)' one ;-) Not a very difficult resolution, but it's fun one to try and keep to ;-) I've so far seen only seen Alchemy live (guildford) but I did go to a casting call in London which must come under the 'do something different' part and I've got tickets to see Tabby live and I'm hoping to go and see a few other people at some point (Alchemy again, Riccardi, Paolo Nutini) if I am able to, the problem is that they are mostly on school nights the day before gcse pratcice exams or at places that will most likely be over 18's.

All for the experience
I've had a busy couple of days, if there is an oppertunity to go to something that I want to go to, I usually take it if I can as I think life is for living and I'm trying to enjoy it.
I'm very tired at the moment so will just copy some of the stuff I've posted on other sites and might add more tomorow at some point. :-)
I went on an english trip friday with 11 others to Poetry Live at Portsmouth Guildhall, some of the poet's poems didn't interest me but others did - Simon (?) Armitage was very funny Also int he evening I went with a friend to see Alchemy in Guildford which was good, and we met some girls that had ended up with just the two of them or something like that so we hung around with them for a bit.
Today I went to London but I didn't go with high expectations and it was more just for the experience. I was one of the 15,000 girls (you may have heard about it on t.v/radio - although I think I managed to avoid all camera's ) queued around the streets of London (for 5/6 hours) to audition for a part in the next Harry Potter film. I think I may have skipped a bit of the queue as we joined it somewhere that wasn't the end, but we couldn't find the end as it was winding all around different streets lol and I don't think me and my friend would have made to much difference to anybody behind. We joined the queue about 10.20 and got into the hall about 3ish - when we got in we were told to fill in some details (you had to be between 13-16 and be able to prove it and where you lived, had to be in the U.K, one gilr had queued for longer or about the same time as me and got to the venue to be told that she wasn't allowed in as she was two young even though she didn't look that young) and then (40 at a time) stand infront of two of the casting people and say our name and where we were from and then they choose the few people who they liked (and I think they had their photo taken and then they get back to whoever they like most for actual auditions), neither me or my friend got picked to have our photo taken but as I said before I didn't expect to (if I had I think I'd have been so shocked and nervous about being called back for a proper audition ) and it was still a good experience.
Edit: I was going to add to it today (sunday) but my computer has got to go into PC world so I've not got time now, hopefully it will be back with me tomorow evening and I can add stuff then :-)

A new year, a new beginning?
Well, I've just got round to posting about my Christmas and new year, I had a good Christmas, I didn't do anything much but I did got to our little annual boxing day 'get together' which was fun.
On new years eve, I did something I've not before (as far as I can remember anyway) - I went out. Usually I stay at home with my mum and dad and watch it on T.V, and then go outside and watch the fireworks going off. However, this year I went to a party at a friends house and well although it was good it didn't seem 'right' or like it was new year, I guess because it wasn't my normal 'routine'. Also a friend tried to get this boy out with me and it didn't work so I was left wondering whether I should have stayed home - we didn't get to sing Auld Lang syne (sp) either :-(
I'm still feeling a bit confused at the moment - I've been back to school and kindly reminded that I've got my gcse's coming up shortly and I'm just feeling a bit confused at the moment with lots of things going on. I need to get things sorted - work in neat piles, room tidied and start getting into a better routine as at the moment I spend too much time on the computer and go to bed too late, I think I'm going to have another new year tonight (without the staying up until 12 bit) as in having a new, more organised start (the one I planned last week but this week seems to have been the same as last years so far). I have lots of things that I'd like to do this year and quite a few things I'll have to do this year (gcse stuff/applying for college ect.) so I'm hoping that 2006 will be a busy but enjoyable year.
Hope everyone else has had a good start to 2006. I'll try and keep my blog updated as much as I can. :-)
ps. I can say that I've already gone and seen the new Harry Potter film this year (for the 3rd time lol) and am planning on going to a gig in the next few weeks so in that respect I'm starting the year as I mean to go on ;-) lol.
